Forbes Article AI That Amplifies Creativity?

I just read an interesting piece from Forbes on designing AI to amplify human creativity rather than replace it.

The core argument was that the best AI tools act more like collaborators or assistants. They remove friction, surface patterns, and create space for people to think more deeply, not automate the thinking itself.

Personally, I can see this going two very different ways.

Some people will use AI to offload admin and repetitive work, freeing up mental space for creativity, judgement, and better decisions. Others will rely on AI to generate everything for them and never really build that creative muscle in the first place.

My hunch is the first group will get far more value long term. AI becomes a force multiplier, not a crutch.

Curious how others here think about this. Do you see AI genuinely amplifying creativity in practice, or are you worried it risks diminishing it over time?

I love this contrarian take.

You often hear a lot of commentary about AI reducing creativity or ruining people’s critical thinking skills. Personally, I’ve had the opposite experience. AI gives me more time to think creatively because it helps me get through tasks much faster.

It’s also improved my critical thinking. I’m constantly having to think about what the AI is doing, what it’s saying back to me, and whether I agree with it. That back and forth forces more judgement, not less.
