I know we’ve got a lot of start-up folk in this community and everyone is interested in AI, so I thought you’d find this worth a read.
Lenny’s Newsletter just published a deep dive study with with ~1,750 respondents across PMs, founders, engineers, designers, how they are using AI at work and if they are at all.
A few insights that stood out:
- AI is exceeding expectations for a majority of users and improving work quality
- Founders are getting the most value, often using AI as a thinking partner rather than just a production tool
- Engineers want AI to take on the boring follow on work like docs, tests, and reviews
One thing that surprised me was how low some of the adoption was. I would have expected usage to be closer to 100% by now, especially in start-up environments.
Curious what others think. Do these numbers match your expectation?
Definitely recommend reading the full piece on Lenny’s Newsletter if you get the chance.
